Punjab Grill, Lite Bite Foods’ gourmet fine dining venture, collaborated with The Robin Hood Army to launch the Leave No Kid Hungry campaign, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) intiative to increase food security and reduce malnutrition on the occasion of India’s 72nd Independence Day. The collaboration is a part of a substantial contribution towards the nation.

The Robin Hood Army, a volunteer-based organisation gathered underprivileged children from the hard-up areas of Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Pune at Punjab Grill outlets in these respective cities for a meal and a wholesome dining experience.

“Despite phenomenal industry and economic growth in India, and while the country produces sufficient food to feed its population, it is unable to provide access to food to a large number of people, especially women and children,” said Vijay Sethi, head chef, Punjab Grill.

“Through this small initiative, we thought of curating a menu and an experience embracing healthy and flavourful food that the young ones of our bright country will enjoy and remember,” he added.

Arundhati, spokesperson, The Robin Hood Army, said, “For us Robins, the idea is to constantly help the less fortunate sections of society to beat global hunger and bring out the best of humanity and kindness. This is the kind of innovation and commitment that will help to fight and work towards ending childhood hunger in India.”

Hunger is more than missing a meal, and according to statistics, hunger kills more people than AIDS, malaria and terrorism each year.

Lite Bite Foods is one of the fastest-growing and dynamic food and business retail companies in India today. Their spirit of CSR ensures cultural exchanges, generation of employment and overall boost in the economy.
