The flagship outlet of Copper Chimney, the 47-decade-old chain of Indian restaurants, has reopened in Worli, Mumbai.

To celebrate its legacy from 1972 (the year of its inception), the restaurant offered the first 72 walk-ins each day a discount of 72 per cent off on their entire dine-in bill on the first five days of its reopening.

Outside the restaurants, Copper Chimney, as a brand and restaurant group, has been leading initiatives towards a goal of Food and Nutrition for All, and has been working closely with Action Against Hunger to find ways to fight hunger and malnutrition.

Using an array of handpicked spices sourced from select farms across India, Copper Chimney’s secret spice recipes, which have been passed down three generations, infuse the brand’s signature flavors into their dishes.

Copper Chimney introduced a complete new look to the flagship outlet, and a new menu, comprising many of the original dishes from its first menu in 1972.

From the original menu, the signature dishes making a comeback included Kabuli Naan, Mushroom Kheema, Bagani Bahar, Fish Begum Bahar, amongst others. These will now be available only at the Worli restaurant.

In addition to the slow-cooked dals, the spiced curries are a specialty at Copper Chimney; right from the signature Paneer Masala and Benaras Malai Kofta, to the 21-spice blend Rogan Josh, and Murg Makhani.

Masters in the art of the tandoor, all Tandoor Grills are marinated for over eight hours, and tandoors are lit at first light each morning, making the Smoked White Pepper Chicken Chops and the Burrah Chop, cooked at 900 degree Fahrenheit, a favourite dishes of all non-vegetarian lovers. The melt-in-your-mouth Paneer Tikka and Achari Mushroom are a must-try for all vegetarians.

Copper Chimney’s handmade breads are cooked in the restaurant’s tandoor ovens, and you cannot miss the paper-thin Roomali, which is available in a whole wheat option as well, or as the signature Kadak Roomali, topped with a choice of secret spices, seasonings or cheese. One can also, try the handmade tandoori rotis, which will also be available in a multi-grain option.

The drinks menu will feature signature cocktails like Achari Whisky with a drop of spicy mango pickle, Khatta Panna (a crushed mango-based cocktail) and street coolers such as Delhi Shikanji, Kala Khatta Jaljeera, Masala Cola and many more.

There will be a vivid range of special Chai Sherbets like Lemon Chai Sherbet, Strawberry Chai Sherbet, Peach Chai Sherbet and Indian Chai, such as Punjabi Karak Chai and Chandni Chowk ki Chai, that is powered with a punch of Indian herbs and spices curated by Copper Chimney.

Exceptional hospitality, fresh made-to-order cooking, secret spice recipes and the use of its proprietary culinary techniques are at the heart of the brand. Till today, the restaurant’s Ustads, its master chefs carry forward the same promise and passion for high quality ingredients and fresh Indian cooking.

The parent company’s foundation, through the efforts of its chairman, Sunil Kapur, has sponsored numerous villages in India to support 1,000-day interventions for children suffering from malnutrition, and proudly worked with NGOs (non-governmental organisations) such as the Robin Hood Army to serve over six million meals across 800 villages in August 2019.

The iconic brand was established by J K Kapur, with the flagship outlet in Worli, which was inaugurated by legendary actor Dilip Kumar. Copper Chimney has built a worldwide fan following and is most loved for its unique flavours and signature dishes of the brand.

Talking about the Copper Chimney experience, brand director Shikha Nath said, “Kapur’s passion for no compromise in food quality has fuelled our passion at Copper Chimney over four decades and continues to inspire us to remain the leader in Indian cuisine.”

“Every detail, from the even-heating of custom clay ovens, to the creation of our secret spice blends, stands the brand apart as a leader in Indian cuisine in India. We are proud and excited to reopen our flagship outlet in Worli to commemorate the first Copper Chimney that opened 47 years ago, in 1972,” she added.
