The Bihari Food Festival, underway at Courtyard By Marriott Ahmedabad’s Momo Cafe, will conclude on August 31, 2019. It will comprise an array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian starters, main course items and desserts from the Eastern state.
While Litti Chokha is the most famous Bihari dish, the state is also renowned for Kebabs, Sattu Paratha and Thekua.
Non-vegetarian preparations from Bihar predominantly comprise chicken and mutton. But fish dishes are common in the Mithila region of North Bihar, owing to the number of rivers, including the Sone, the Gandak, the Ganges and the Kosi.
Dairy products, such as dahi (yoghurt), mattha (spiced buttermilk), ghee, lassi and butter, are consumed throughout the year.
Juices made from seasonal fruits like watermelon and sharbat made from wood-apple pulp are consumed mainly in the summer months, and dry foods, such as preparations made from sesame and poppy seeds are consumed more frequently in the winter months.
It will be on offer between 7:30pm and 11:30pm.
