Thinking Forks to hold Food Regulatory Master Class for industry on Oct 31

With a view to build a strong understanding of the latest food regulations as per FSSAI, Thinking Forks Consulting is organising a Food Regulatory Master Class for the industry on October 31, 2019.
According to organisers, the session will help in learning the necessary steps to safely bring a product to market and ensure regulatory compliance. The workshop will look at seven areas. The contents include Licensing/Registration of Food Business - basic requirement necessary to obtain licence/registration will be delved into. Also focus will be on different kinds of licences for different types of Food Business Organisations (FBOs).
The session on Labelling highlights the mandatory requirement for labelling wholesale and retail packs. Besides the final draft regulation and new packaging regulations for labelling will also be covered.
With regards to claims and advertisements, it will cover types of claims and claims that can and not be made. The topic on Food Additives and Food Category Code will provide insights into the permitted food additives for broad categories of food considering latest trends. It will also cover the way to follow food category code and why is it important. Further the session will also cover FSS Packaging Regulations 2018. Besides Food Safety and Quality Management System will cover the systems to be put in place to deliver safe food to consumers. The session will be concluded with an interaction with experts.
The speakers are Dr A Savitri, food science & technology, CFTRI, Mysore, who earlier was the head of scientific and regulatory affairs, Britannia Industries, and a certified trainer, FoSTAC; Sachin Achintalwar, president, Association of Food Safety Technology India, Bangalore Chapter; and Dr Shashikanth K N, food microbiology, CFTRI, Mysore, and former head of quality, Britannia Industries, and Heinz.
The organisers stated that the seminar which has a fee of Rs 8,000 per participant would be useful for food entrepreneurs, young food technologists, marketing teams & agencies working with clients on food products. Besides the event is also important for those wanting to have a clarity or interpretation of food regulation & food safety.
The daylong seminar will be held at the Design Barn, Avalahalli Main Road, Bileshivale, Bengaluru.
