Kerala Food Festival underway at The Orchid Hotel’s South of Vindhyas

The Kerala Food Festival, currently underway at South of Vindhyas, at Mumbai’s The Orchid Hotel, will conclude on December 21, 2018. There are three buffet options - a vegetarian one priced at Rs 1,300 plus taxes; a non-vegetarian one priced at Rs 1,500 plus taxes, and a seafood one priced at Rs 1,800 plus taxes. These will be served in leaf-laced plates. In addition, there will be a special Kerala meal served a la carte.
The feast, prepared by chef Bala and his team, will begin with soups like Rasam and Paya and starters such as Urulai Uperi, Parippu Vada, Chembada, Kerala Fish Fry, Koonthal Roast, Kozhi Milagu Fry and many other varieties of Vada.
The elaborate main course includes Olan, Avial, Ulli Theyal, Kootu Curry, and Kadala Curry for vegetarians andKozhi Roast, Mutton Nandan Curry, Adu Ishtu, Keema Masala and Malabar Chicken Curry for the non-vegetarians.
For seafood lovers, chef has special offerings, including Meen Moilee, Meen Peera, Chemmeen Theeyal, Chemmeen Mappas, which can be go along with different types of breads like Malabari Paratha and Appams. Those who are rice lovers can have Chemeen Biryani, Ney Choru,Mapla Chicken Biryani, etc.
The mains were accompanied by freshly-prepared desserts that include Kaya Mukki Porichathu, Pal Ada Pradhamam, Thari Unda and Aravana Payasam.
