The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) conducted advance training and certification programmes for supervisors at the Grand Mercure Vadodara Surya Palace and the Metropole Hotel in Ahmedabad (both in the state of Gujarat) recently. Sixty-seven hospitality professionals participated in the same.

This took the total number of certified personnel in the western region to 147. The association’s initiative to get as many hospitality professionals as possible certified in the food safety training and certification (FoSTaC) programme has gained a great reach and a tremendous response.

So far, HRAWI has conducted four such training sessions for hotels, restaurants and catering establishments across Maharashtra and Gujarat, with the objective of equipping these establishments with the food safety and standards requirements mandated by the country’s apex food regulator.

“The training programme will help hotel establishments ready themselves in becoming compliant with the food safety and standards as required by the FSSAI. We have received a very good response so far, and it has encouraged us to continue the initiative,” said Dilip Datwani, president, HRAWI.
