The Bengaluru leg of drink technology India (dti), the leading event dedicated to India’s beverage and liquid food industry, will now take place at the Bangalore International Expo Centre between April 10 and 12, 2019.

The trade fair, which was slated to take place at the same venue between February 28 and March 3, 2019, has been postponed at the request of the exhibitors following consultation with the industry.

It will mark the debut of the fair, primarily aimed at Indian exhibitors and visitors, in the Karnataka capital. Numerous Indian exhibitors had requested that the event not be held on the planned date. The background to this are the production cycles and the annual statements of accounts of the companies that tie up the workforce during this period.

Accordingly, the number of registrations for the new date has remained virtually unchanged: about 95 per cent of the Indian exhibitors who had already registered will also attend the new date. The international companies will also remain loyal to the event in April.

In 2019, dti will take place twice. After the premiere in the southern city, dti will be launched at NSIC Grounds, New Delhi, between December 5 and 7 as a combined fair with pacprocess India, indiapack and food pex India by Messe Düsseldorf. The dates for the New Delhi leg of the event remain unchanged.

“Our goal in Bengaluru and New Delhi is to connect Indian exhibitors in particular with visitors from these metropolitan regions. By postponing dti in Bengaluru to April, at the request of the industry, we are responding to this strategic approach,” said Bhupinder Singh, chief executive officer, Messe München India.

In view of the varying presence of the sectors in the Indian regions, the focus in Bengaluru is on fruit juices, beer, spirits, wine and liquid food.

Mumbai’s BCEC (Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre) remains the international hub for the beverage and liquid food industry in India, and the next event there will take place between December 9 and 11, 2020.
