Catford Mews will host a party to launch their first beer, Catford Mews Scratch IPA, on March 25, 2020. While the first 25 Catford Mews members will be entitled to free Catford Mews Scratch IPA, there will be a special price on the new beer all night.
With an amber glow and sweet toffee undertones the new Scratch IPA (with an alcohol by volume [ABV] of 4.8 per cent), will cost only £5.20. The Catford Mews team made Scratch IPA with local Brockley Brewery, opting for bittering hops that impart a refreshingly clean bitterness and a fruity flavour with a hint of blackcurrant.
The beer was dry-hopped with two American varieties that give the beer additional earthy and thirst-quenching citrus notes. Scratch boasts a well-balanced flavour and, like a traditional IPA, sits on the hoppier side of bitterness.
In addition to the new home brew beer, guests will be able to enjoy wine and delicious themed cocktails at the bar and coffee from Compound Coffee, plus treats from the Catford Mews food stalls. These include vegan Scandi-inspired Dauns Deli, Caribbean-infused patties from Patty Man, and Japanese street food from Fuse.
Catford Mews brew, Scratch IPA will be available on tap only, and will be available from Catford Mews and a limited amount will be available at the Brockley taproom.
While Catford and Catford Bridge are the nearest railway stations to the venue, a number pf buses ply on that route.
